Rejuvenating i-Pixel Laser Resurfacing treatment uses a fractional ablative laser to smooth your skin, stimulate fresh collagen production and rid your complexion of imperfections.
A fractional ablative laser is one that targets some cells on your skin’s surface rather than all of them. This triggers your body’s natural healing process to create new, healthy skin cells but, by leaving some cells untouched, it means less downtime post-treatment.
This is a fantastic option for addressing skin imperfections such as acne scarring, sun damage, uneven skin texture, large open pores, or fine lines and wrinkles. Better yet, by causing your skin to produce new collagen, you should find that it looks and feels firmer, tighter and more lifted after each treatment.
We use a handheld device for i-Pixel Laser Resurfacing in order to deliver heat energy into your skin in a pixelated and highly targeted manner. This heats water within the chosen areas, causing it and the heated cells to vaporise. In turn, this sends your skin a signal that it needs to heal by creating fresh collagen and elastin.
One of the many benefits of this treatment is that we can adjust it to work at a variety of levels within your skin, building up collagen production below the surface, as well as improving the surface itself. This means that you should see ongoing improvements to your skin for 12-18 months.
i-Pixel Laser Resurfacing is a flexible treatment that can be fully customised to your needs, meaning we can be really intentional about addressing a wide range of skin issues to leave you with a refreshed and rejuvenated look.
Before your i-Pixel Laser Resurfacing, we’ll talk to you about your skin health and any issues you would like to address, before carrying out a thorough skin assessment. Feel free to ask questions – we want to know what matters to you!
We will thoroughly cleanse your skin before the procedure. The laser can cause the treatment area to feel warm, so we may use a numbing cream to ensure that you’re comfortable throughout. The treatment is delivered using a handheld device, so we’ll give you a pair of eye protectors to wear and then you can lay back and relax. You may smell a slight burning aroma when we’re using the laser, but this is normal! Most people find this treatment surprisingly comfortable or say that the discomfort is minimal.
Your skin after the tretament will look and feel sunburnt and we will apply sun protection and some soothing serums straight after the tretament.
You may find that the skin feels burning or stinging later in the day, if so do let us know and we will advice you on how to manage this.
You will have some puffiness and redness for around 1-2 days, and small grid shaped dots on your face for 5 days. Most clients find they return to their daily activities the day after the tretament.
Your skin will feel dry from day 4-5 and we can advise on some skincare to manage this.
It is very important you use SPF post your tretament. Please ask us for any advise.
No. We can manage your comfort with some topical numbing cream. However, many people find this treatment comfortable even without it. You may find that your skin feels warm and slightly sunburnt afterwards.
In our experience, this treatment is safe to be done on any skin tone using the correct settings. One of the reasons that we insist on a consultation is to ensure that this is the right treatment option for your skin.
Yes, i-Pixel Laser Resurfacing can be used on your body, as well as your face. It’s an excellent treatment option to firm up saggy skin in the tummy area, for example, or to reduce the appearance of stretch marks or surgical scars. This is because the treatment stimulates fresh collagen production, which is the main protein in firm, healthy skin.
