Step 1: Consultation
Before your microneedling treatment, we’ll talk to you about your skin health and any issues you would like to improve, before carrying out a skin assessment. Your treatment plan will be tailored to reflect your needs. Booking a course of treatments means we can continue to monitor and adapt our approach to give you the best possible results.
Step 2: During your treatment
We’ll begin your treatment by applying a gentle peel to remove any dead skin cells and impurities. Next, lay back and relax as we use a handheld microneedling device to create tiny punctures in the epidermis. This stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which will help to repair, plump and firm your skin. Finally, we’ll apply a specially prescribed cocktail of active ingredients, chosen to suit you. These products are able to go deeper into your skin via the needle channels.
Step 3: After the treatment
You must give your skin time to heal. Avoid applying make-up to the treated area for at least 24 hours following the procedure. Although the recovery time is next to none, we recommend that you stay out of direct sunlight for 72 hours to prevent any pigmentation. You should see the full results of this treatment after one to two weeks, lasting for up to six months.
Is microneedling painful?
No, our microneedling procedure is the most comfortable on the market, so much so that you won’t need any anaesthetic cream. Most people describe it as a light scratching sensation.
Is microneedling right for my skin type?
This is an effective treatment for a variety of skin types and concerns, but we will always check for contraindications, such as active eczema, keloid scarring or abnormal wound healing. One of the reasons we begin any treatment with a consultation is to assess your skin and build your treatment plan around it.
Is there a risk of infection from microneedling?
Infection of the treated area is extremely unlikely as all microneedling procedures are carried out with sterile equipment in clinical conditions. We will give you detailed aftercare instructions to continue to protect your skin.
Is one session of microneedling enough?
You’ll usually notice improvements after one microneedling session, but lasting results come with a course of treatments. Most people need at least three sessions, spaced a few weeks apart, to achieve smoother texture, reduced fine lines, and firmer skin.
