What is a HydraFacial?

A HydraFacial is a multi-step facial treatment designed to cleanse, hydrate, and rejuvenate the skin. It can be tailored to suit your skin type and needs, making it adaptable as your skincare goals evolve.

The treatment begins with advanced vortex technology to detoxify, cleanse, and exfoliate the skin, removing impurities and dead skin cells. Next, the skin is infused with potent serums containing botanical ingredients that target damage from stress, pollution, sun exposure, and ageing.

The HydraFacial concludes with a relaxing infrared therapy, which helps stimulate collagen production, supports natural vitamin D synthesis, reduces redness, and leaves the skin looking refreshed, healthy, and radiant.

Treatment step-by-step

Step 1: Consultation

Before your HydraFacial treatment, we’ll carry out a thorough skin assessment at our clinics in Belgravia and Primrose Hill and talk to you about any issues affecting your skin. With this information, we can help you choose the best HydraFacial protocols to suit you. We’ll also explain the stages of the treatment and can answer any questions you may have.

Step 2: During your treatment

To deliver a HydraFacial, we use a handheld device with interchangeable tips, which are passed repeatedly over your skin to deliver the different cleansing and hydrating protocols. The patented vortex technology creates gentle suction to remove impurities, but it’s incredibly comfortable. All you need to do is lie back and relax as we pamper and nourish your skin.

Step 3: After the treatment

Once the treatment is finished, your Aesthetician will apply a moisturiser and sunscreen to protect your newly cleansed and hydrated skin. You may experience a small amount of redness immediately after the treatment, but this will pass within half an hour. You can wear mineral make-up straight away, although we’d always encourage you to let your skin breathe and to enjoy your fresh, dewy glow.
Your skin will look refreshed immediately and the results are cumulative, so they continue to improve with each HydraFacial.

What are the stages of HydraFacial treatment?

Stage 1: HydraFacial uses advanced, patented ‘vortex’ technology to deliver gentle formulations of lactic, glycolic and salicylic acid to your skin. This removes dead skin cells and detoxifies the skin as well as extracting debris from your pores.

Stage 2: Stage two of the treatment delivers botanical ingredients that can fight the damage caused by stress, pollution, sun damage and ageing. Ingredients include hyaluronic acid, horse chestnut seed extract, red algae extract, copper, zinc, and magnesium peptides.
These rebuild the health of your skin, boost collagen production and provide long-lasting hydration.

Stage 3: We end the treatment with red and infrared light to counteract any redness of the skin and leave you with a stunning healthy glow. This stage of the treatment can also boost your skin’s natural vitamin D production and encourage fresh collagen production, which means you should see ongoing improvements to your skin’s health between appointments.

What problems can HydraFacial treat?

This treatment is ideal for a range of skin issues and maintaining your skin health. Using hyaluronic acid and other nutrients and peptides is great for skin refinement and restoring collagen.
It can also be used to break down hyperpigmentation and sun damage and protect the skin from further damage from free radicals.

HydraFacial delivers excellent results for under-eye puffiness, strengthening collagen and elastin in this delicate facial area. It can also improve the structural strength of skin cells to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

We find it’s a great acne treatment, reducing redness and inflammation without drying out the skin. During stage three of the treatment, we can use blue light to reduce the bacteria contributing to acne.

  I recently had a facial at Aesthetics Lab, and I can say that without a doubt it was the best treatment I have ever received. From the consultation which was very thorough, in which we discussed each of my concerns in depth, to the facial itself, which was incredible. I have had many facials in the past and none of them have been of this high standard. I was then recommended some products which I purchased from the clinic and have been using ever since. They have done wonders for my skin, and I will definitely be returning! I cannot recommend Aesthetics Lab enough, the staff are so lovely and accommodating and the treatments are fantastic!

  Emma and the aesthetics lab team are INCREDIBLE! I very rarely write reviews, but I am so happy with my experience with Emma, that I have to! I have recently been trying to explore how to optimise my skin. This is all new to me, so I was a bit hesitant and unsure going into the process. Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience at a different clinic with a facial-gone-wrong, and am dealing with ongoing acne as a result. I had nearly lost hope that skincare could be for me, but then I found Aesthetics lab!

Carolyn helped me with my initial consultation. She was very welcoming and empathetic to my situation, making me feel very comfortable. I had my first session the same day with Emma. I did a light treatment and the experience was fantastic. Emma immediately made me feel comfortable. She understood the concerns and hesitations that I had and was very patient answering my many questions. I felt very calm and could tell how experienced she was. I had such a great experience that I booked again and came back for my second treatment with Emma that same week. This time I got a hydra facial. It was again, a fantastic experience. I was so impressed with all of her knowledge on how the products work, her advice on what my skin might respond best to, and her understanding and empathy towards my situation.   I have recently finished a course of Laser Hair Removal with Aesthetics Lab and could not recommend it enough , from the moment I walked in the staff were so welcoming and professional. The clinic itself is accessible, modern and exceptionally clean.

I had 6 sessions targeting under my arms and legs which was painless and really effective with no redness or rashes which I have previously experienced when waxing, my only regret is I didn't visit sooner!!
